Came home from working at a local lab and this is what I found…

Of course there were not just two neat little piles.  It was strewn around the dining room and living room.  I just condensed it to picture worthy form.

Yes it is a whole box of boy scout popcorn.  20 bucks, 1 box, 15 packets…  I only found 3 kernels of corn out of a whole box of popcorn.  And yes, the house smells oh so buttery…

I hope popcorn won’t kill the dogs, at least I think I do…

And then they have the nerve to whine at me for dinner…

Update:  It gets better… Well the PID (Politically Incorrect Dog) did not do so well with the popcorn.  Big liquidly mess in the bathroom.  Got that cleaned up and 5 minutes later the PID popped.  So we had another mess to clean up.  The Aussie seems to be no worse for wear.

Missed by that much…

Well my buddy that I have slowly but surely been converting into a solid gun owner finally wanted to pull the trigger on an EBR.  Not because he needs one but because he wants to get one while he still can.  He like may others is afraid our government won’t let him get one in the future.

So we went over to my favorite broker of all things evil and black, 2A sales.  Now that it has been a couple weeks since the Jimmy Carter Obummer got reelected by the 51%ers.  What this means is that the pickings are kind of slim, or that only the higher end weapons are left.

A passel of $1999 ARs hang on the wall along with a Sig Hunter at a grand, as well as a couple SCARs in 16 and 17 variety.  A few AKs which my buddy was not interested in.  He really liked the LMT CQB MRP and after hefting it and putting it up to the shoulder a couple of times I really liked it, the fit and finish of that weapon is incredible.  Well since I was not supposed to be shopping I let my buddy decide.  He wanted to sleep on it.  Well when he went the next morning it was gone baby gone.  The owner of 2A thinks he won’t see another one for a year or more…

My wife asked me on the way home why I did not buy it.  I love that girl…

Mark did say that he should be getting in a few Sig556s in next week.  I will take my buddy over to look at one of those.  If he passes on it I may pick it up…

Going to the Grocery store right now…

Now that the Unions have driven another company out of competitiveness and hence out of business with unreasonable demands it looks like I have to hurry over to the store for some Twinkie’s and Ding Dongs.

Not that I eat them often but I need to get my fix in before the Zombies show up and all that is left is Snowballs…

Unions Suck.

Update:  The shelves are already bare.  I had to go to two different stores before I found any Twinkie’s.  I unlike some of those greedy bastards did not take all of them.  I left a box…

I have always loved Depeche Mode.

Sorry for the commercial.

I hope they put this song on the next album…

No more Twinkie’s

So the bakers union is on strike.  They don’t want pay cuts. Hostess will start liquidation if the union does not go back to work thursday night.  It will be like a bad day in Zombieland, nothing but snowballs and I hate coconut…

So no jobs are better than a pay cut?  The unions need to realize that they economy is in a depression.  So if hostess liquidates Twinkies may come back made by someone else but those jobs will never come back as the company that buys hostesses intellectual property will certainly not fall for the same old union trick.  They will start making them somewhere else.  Most likely a right to work state with low union activity.

My company is going through a reduction in force (read as layoffs) if you are not a top performer you may be looking for a new job.  The number of companies that have announced layoffs is getting larger every day.

Welcome to the mess left by the last president.  I am so glad that Obama gets to deal with his own mess.  Something tells me that it is going to get so bad that the Senate will be changing colors in two short years kind of like the House did in 2010…

Boys trip to the mountain

Well we made another pilgrimage to the dirt bike mecca of the east coast.  It all started off so well.  Friday was nice and we initiated our newest riding buddy to the joys of Hatfield & McCoy.  He only crashed it twice on friday.

Friday night was when it all started going wrong.  Our other buddy who has a history at Hatfield started feeling not so good around dinner time.  By the time we got to the cabin he was doing the technicolor yawn after just clearing the truck door.  He was driving the buick all night, at some point we were worried that we were going to have to take him to the Logan hospital (again).  Somewhere around two am he stopped walking ralph and just moaned a bunch.

Next day it was nice and sunny.  Our buddy was in bed and looking like death.  We did what any good riding buddies would do.  We left him in the cabin and went riding.  It was a good day of riding, the newb only crashed it twice.  I decided that the bush looked softer than the side by side that was taking up the whole trail.  The quadders all asked if I was ok as they drove by splattering me with mud.  All in all it was a nice day to ride.

Sunday was also a great day on the mountain.  Our sick buddy had finally made it out of the chair onto the porch.  We once again did what good buddies would do and went riding without him. The newb did well with only one crash and two or three drops while standing still.  I think he was worn out by this point since we did make him do a single track.  We finished off the day watching the first tie in the NFL since 2008.  It was a good weekend except for our poor sick buddy with the stomach virus.

Monday dawned and we started packing up.  As we were driving down off the mountain things started to go bad for me.  Seems my buddy gave me his stomach virus.  I think we made it 60 miles before I was calling for a pull over and hurl…  I think he had the tuck almost stopped when I had the back door open and got busy painting the pavement with last nights dinner…

There is nothing more miserable than being stuck in a truck for 7 hours and wanting to hurl every hour and a half…

Well

I guess we finally get to see what 4 more years of Jimma Carter would be like…

Early voting update…

Nope.  Was not able to early vote.  Every time I drove past our early voting place the wait was at least 200 yards long before you even got in the building.  Not that my vote really matters in the Peoples Republic of Maryland.  We have three population centers that will make the state go for Obummer.  I will cast my vote anyway, and maybe my vote will matter on some of the ballot issues.

Oh and Proposition 6, I think will go down in flames just like it has in every other state that has put it on the ballot (I think but don’t care enough to do the research).  There is a group of people in this country that hates the idea and will vote it down in mass.  Me personally I will be doing a ROFL when the first Gay couple divorces and somedude has to pay alimony to someotherdude…  And lets not even talk about the marriage penalty tax…
