Fun Turns to Tragedy!!!
The Skinny
I am a gun enthusiast trapped in the People's Republic of Maryland. My political affiliation is Independent, as the Ruling parties are both full of crap, and long ago stopped representing the common man. If the Libertarians weren't such freaks I would probably be one. I am a member of the Nation of Riflemen and damn proud of it. I once took an oath that I would support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. As far as I know I never broke that oath, and will continue to follow it. I am not Politically Correct and will NEVER be Politically Correct. If you need to know more, feel free, Ask.

Well Arnold definitely has the chance to be the first to implement Socialist health care in the US. As the democrats and socialists in California celebrate sending a bill to Arnold, I sit and wonder if they have come up with a source of funding. Probably not as they never really take the financial part of a bill that they pass into account. So I wonder how long it will be before they bankrupt California and californians are fleeing the state due to the enormous tax increase that it will take to try and keep socialist health care afloat. It is not working in Canada, it has pretty much failed in the UK. How many examples of failed universal health care do we really have to hold up before people realize that the government can’t run healthcare any better than they can run government.
In 04 the UK spent $2475 (US dollars) per person per year on their health care where as the US paid $5683 per person for its media care and its other associated health care programs. So if we extrapolate those conservative UK numbers to the population of California (36,132,147) we come up with a really large number. How large…
$89,427,063,825
Yes 89 billion just for Kalifornia… So basically the government of Kalifornia will have to come up with 89 billion dollars for Socialist Health care. Now granted they will get a fairly large portion of that from people that are employed with health care. but where are they going to come up with the rest. They will have little choice but to massively raise taxes as they “claim” there are only 7 million people without health care. I would conservatively double that number as the US census does not take into account illegals. That comes up to a minimum of $17,325,000,000 in shortfall… So, bend over California, Here it comes again…
36,132,147 (us census estimate) current population of California.
Current budget of California 92.7 Billion (Governors Budget)
if you want the support data for my numbers on the UK and US spending you can find all the research I did in 04 here.
Sorry about the sudden lack of posting now that there has been a sudden resumption of posting. I am not at home at the moment. I look to remedy that shortly. In the mean time I do have an ill tempered PID (Politically Incorrect Dog for those of you who don’t read says uncle), and a wife with a .357 Magnum and an itchy trigger finger holding down the fort…
Just so you won’t think I have gone all soft on ya I have some gun posts coming up once I get home and have time to take the pictures.
Earlier this year I read both the Fountain Head and Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. I thoroughly enjoyed both books. I really enjoyed her thoughts on individuality, and government involvement in free trade. I will reread both of those books again quite soon as they were fairly deep, and will require another read or two to take everything in and put it all into place.
In cruising about internet today in anticipation of making a couple of new Link Buttons I stumbled across the fact that they are making a movie version of Atlas Shrugged to be released sometime in 2007. I am wondering just how badly Hollywierd will botch a book that deep. If they can’t even get Miami Vice right I really can’t see them doing something quite so intellectual and getting it even half right…
Well since everyone else has been putting up videos I figured it was time for me to do the same thing…. I probably watched this video at least 10 times in a row… fun fun fun…

you will have to click the more button as the video loads right up, so in order to conserve you bandwidth you have to click on the more button below…
Now this post by Josh over a the South Park Pundit has me rolling. Seem that Josh decided that it was time to take up smoking just to thumb his nose at the establishment making stupid rules.
Day One of the ban, I go outside my office, walk downstairs, seat myself under a tree and light up. 2 minutes later, this shrieking harpy from another office starts berating me. I calmy finish my smoke and have another. Now Officer Doogood comes by to tell me to cease. I tell him I won’t, and that little flyer on the bulletin board does not a policy make. Please show me the official document that bans outdoor smoking. He can’t produce it, briefly contemplates tazing me, then wanders away to co-miserate with the harpy.
go read the whole thing as it is quite funny…
Now I am not a smoker (I have smoked a pipe before) and despise smokers for one reason… I could care less if they are smoking their way to an early grave. Its their body, and their choice. But what makes me despise smokers is that the vast majority of them seem to think that the world is their ashtray. I took a short stroll down the street in front of my house, here are the results.

Now I started counting, but only made it 20 feet or so before I hit over 100 and quit in disgust. My wife did a clean up last weekend before we mowed so there were no cigarette boxes to go with all those butts.
Now I know not every smoker flicks his butt when he/she is done with it but the vast majority feel that it is ok to casually toss them when they are done with them.
When I was in the Army the smokers would just roll the cherry (lit portion of the cig for those non smokers) off of the filter and step on it so it goes out. They then put the filter into their pocket for later disposal. I guess having to do pushups every time they got caught dropping the butt onto the ground is a good thing, we had a Command Sgt. Maj. who could see a soldier drop a butt from literally a mile away, you were then doing pushups till you dropped. Once you finished that you were police calling the area until you came up with the equivalent of a pack (20 I think) of butts. I saw one guy chain smoke an entire pack because there were no butts to be found… Military justice at its finest…
Filters should be banned, then the smokers can just smoke them down till they burn their fingers…
