Fun Turns to Tragedy!!!

The Skinny

I am a gun enthusiast trapped in the People's Republic of Maryland. My political affiliation is Independent, as the Ruling parties are both full of crap, and long ago stopped representing the common man. If the Libertarians weren't such freaks I would probably be one. I am a member of the Nation of Riflemen and damn proud of it. I once took an oath that I would support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. As far as I know I never broke that oath, and will continue to follow it. I am not Politically Correct and will NEVER be Politically Correct. If you need to know more, feel free, Ask.

what am I up too???

National Airborne Day

Wow,  looks like I missed National Airborne Day.  Looks like I need to drag out my scanner and see what good images I may have on the dead film media.

I said it before…

New buzz words,  Structurally Deficient.  Seems like a government term that is meant to succeed the term condemned.  Judging by the news coverage it sounds like most of the bridges in American are about to fall down.

I noted this back in November of 05, back when I blogged more frequently.  I actually had a friend tell me I was over reacting about our deficient infrastructure.  Looks like I was not overreacting at all.

Now I am saying it again…

Our infrastructure is falling apart and antiquated.  It was designed to support one hundred and fifty million or so people, not the three hundred million people that we have now.  We have effectively doubled our population without doubling our infrastructure.  Our roads are overcrowded, our bridges are falling down.  Our telecommunications infrastructure is running for the most part on copper cabling that was installed anywhere from twenty to fifty years ago, then only maintained and expanded when and where necessary.  Our school systems can barely turn out people who can serve fries at McDonalds without screwing up the job.  The Industries that made America what it is are just about gone, no more steel production, almost no more manufacturing.  Technology the lone bright spot will be in exported to Asia in the next decade or so just because it is cheaper.  The space industry, which drove technical advances for the last forty years, lies stagnant and choking on its own bureaucracy.

A huge reversal needs to take place, it will cost us.  Cost us a lot.  If we do not spend the money to fix what needs fixing, and push our country to the next inflection point in our evolution it will cost us so much more.

It is time for America to once again invest in our future.  We need to rebuild our infrastructure from power supply and delivery to roads and telecommunications.  Maybe we can use this event as starting point for rebuilding our country.  Lets invest in America and American business before it is too late.
