I mean wow. I stopped past my local gun range/gunstore. This is a fairly large store with usually three hundred or so pistols and a few long guns. They had just finished putting out their stock and I was perusing the display cases. I was stunned to see that in the 10 cases with 30~40 firearms each 98% of the guns were marked SOLD. There were only a couple of .22s and the odd wheel gun that were not marked sold.
The Peoples Republic of Maryland is backlogged well over 30 days processing the paperwork for people, not that you could buy a gun right now, err at least not a legal one.
